No, in competitive the variation is named Warlock. However characters don't use the ranked variation names by default. Fire and Brimstone is the default name for the Warlock competitive variation. I just changed the names of the first two variations on each character to match their competitive variations.
Warlock is overall the best with very strong zoning and solid damage with combo extenders. Spell Master is imo the most fun and most technical if you like a more flashy guessing game variation, but it's probably the worst of his three because of how slow most of the moves he gets from it are. Exactly! I think it's worth pointing out that Shang Tsung's ninja morphs are very specifically their classic skins. Assuming, say, that this Shang is supposed to be a past version brought forward to the future, that still leaves room for those same ninjas to get redesigns and new movesets.
